Beginning with our first location, which opened in Inkster in 2006, Western Wayne Family Health Centers (WWFHC) were the first federally-qualified health centers (FQHC) in the out Wayne County area. We have since added locations in Taylor, Lincoln Park, and Dearborn.
WWFHC’s holistic approach means that we’re certified as a Patient-Centered Medical Home, and we offer an integrated, coordinated healthcare experience for all of your family’s needs, from birth through senior citizens. Each of our convenient locations provides comprehensive medical, dental, and behavioral health services.
Our community healthcare centers help over 20,000 patients each year, and we often have same-day and walk-in appointments available. We’re always accepting new patients for our medical and dental services, so give us a call to make an appointment today!
The federal government supports FQHCs like us who operate in areas that have limited primary care providers who accept Medicaid, offer services to uninsured and underinsured people, and have a high percentage of lower-income residents.
Anyone! You can live anywhere and visit us for your health care services. Our community health centers are located within neighborhoods to make them convenient and easy to access, but you don’t have to be a resident of these areas to receive our services. We are happy to serve people with or without health insurance.
We are not a free clinic, but we do offer a Sliding Fee Scale based on income for those that are uninsured or underinsured. This often makes care low-cost and affordable to those that need it.
We can also offer our patients special discounted rates on prescriptions at select pharmacies -- contact us for more information!
We receive federal grant funding that helps offset the costs of services that we provide. This is how we’re able to offer a sliding fee scale to anyone who is uninsured or underinsured.
WWFHC accepts most medical and dental insurance plans as well as all Medicaid/Healthy Michigan and Medicare insurance plans for all services (medical, dental, and behavioral health). We also have folks on site who can help you apply for Medicaid if you’re eligible.
Contact us to find out if we accept your insurance.
Our team works hard to make sure we see you at the time of your scheduled appointment. If you don’t arrive on time, we may have to consider you as a walk-in patient and you’ll need to wait for the next available provider or we may have to reschedule you.
If you cannot keep your appointment, please contact us at least 24 hours in advance, so that we can schedule other patients. You can give us a call or use the patient portal to cancel and/or reschedule your appointment.
Copays and any fees determined by our Sliding Fee Scale program are due at the time of service. In the event you receive a bill from us, you can pay it online in the Patient Portal, stop by a clinic to pay in person or give us a call to pay over the phone.
If your insurance plan has a copay, we do expect payment at the time of service.
If you don’t have insurance, we will determine a copay for you based on your income, and it will be due at the time of service. Contact us to find out what proof of income you’ll need to bring in for us to determine your copay.
If you have Medicaid or the Healthy Michigan Plan, there are no copays at WWFHC.
You can pay with cash, check, or debit/credit card.

Western Wayne Family Health Centers are governed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors. Our board is composed of community members, non-profit leaders, and healthcare representatives.
To make sure the voice of our patients is centered in how we operate, the board is made up of a majority (minimum 51%) of WWFHC patients.
If you are a patient at WWFHC and are interested in serving on a committee, please contact us at [email protected].
